Administrator & Executive Director
Ronald (Ron) Aylward is originally from a small town in Northern Minnesota. Thanks to brutal Minnesota winters, Ron found himself living in Florida at a young age where he dreamed about becoming a surfing champion. When his surfing dreams didn’t pan out he embarked on a journey of knowledge earning Bachelor’s in Business Administration from NYU’s Stern School of Business and continued on to an MBA from Webster University.
His careers took him to the United States Army where he served with honors in campaigns and missions globally. He became an executive with Starbucks Coffee & Tea Company helping grow the brand both internationally and domestically. When a series of life events had him make an abrupt change and cease traveling he found himself making an unexpected career change that he is eternally grateful for. Due to his success in business, he was offered a position in senior living. A position he never saw himself in, but now can’t see himself doing anything else.
Ron is often asked why do you do this? And the answer is clear: “ I was raised primarily by my grandmother and mother. When my grandmother was diagnosed with Dementia, I did the research and visited all the Assisted Living Communities and Memory Care Units and I mean all of them! I thought I did everything I was supposed to in order to take care of her. I was upset and dismayed by what I experienced at each facility. I moved my grandmother four times and that last move was better but they still took away the respect and dignity she deserved. The disease is cruel and robs even the most elegant person of their dignity. What I needed were caregivers that cared and didn’t just punch a clock, had compassion, and love for another person. I couldn’t find it. I was always told it’s just the industry. When my mother was given a similar diagnosis but at a much younger age, I knew I needed to protect and do better for her. I knew I could use my business savvy, compassion, and personal experience to make a change in the industry and I have been doing that ever since. For the past seven years I have been challenging the industry norms and making changes putting residents and their families first. I also sign off and take the time to meet and interview every staff member. I treat the community like a club. Now, Club Chateau. For staff, we are a hard club to get into and you have to earn your status in the club every day. When you do, the rewards come, the residents are properly cared for, nurtured, and treated with respect and dignity.

I see a bit of my own family in every resident I get the honor and privilege to serve and make no mistake, it is an honor to be trusted to care for each resident”.
Ron lives a short distance away in Cocoa Beach with his family and Hunter. I am sure you will see and get to know his family and the Hunter at Chateau Madeline often. Keep an eye out for Ron and his dog Hunter as they walk the hallways, join in activities, and spend time getting to know you.
Director of Operations
Stephen Weston, Director of Operations for Chateau Madeleine, has worked in the senior living industry for ten years following the pursuit of a career in health care. Stephen has a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences specializing in health and wellness programs and psychology. He has worked across the full spectrum of senior care including home health, hospice, skilled nursing, and assisted living. Family is very important to Stephen, he comes from a big and very close-knit family. Stephen is from Florida growing up in the Tampa Bay area before relocating to Melbourne after learning about Chateau Madeleine’s innovative, thoughtful, and caring programming.
Kelly Ann Shovlin
Director of Nursing
Kelly Ann Shovlin is the Director of Nursing for Chateau Madeleine. She earned her Nursing and Bachelor’s in Science at University of Central Florida. She was also a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society where she was awarded a scholarship to study Nursing abroad in Australia. Kelly has 4 years’ experience as a Nursing Director in senior living in Brevard County. Before her senior living career she worked five years for the State of Florida Department of Health promoting and improving public health throughout the county. Preceding that Kelly worked in trauma as well as plastic and reconstructive surgery. She also has received her Anesthesia Assistant license where she is highly trained in emergency management care. When she isn’t working at the community she enjoys reading and studying anything science based. Kelly has three children and is happily married.
Director of Human Resources
Kolette is the Director of Human Resources for Suntree Senior Living Management, LLC. As the Human Resources Director, she is very proud to be a part of the Chateau Madeleine Leadership Team.
Ms. Kovall has over 20 years of experience working in the Human Resources field including experience at local technology giant Harris Corporation, defense contractor DRS Technologies, national restaurant group Chipotle, Inc and Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.
Kolette enjoys traveling and has lived in South America, Central America and the United States Virgin Islands. She is fluent in Spanish.
A graduate of Michigan State University and avid MSU sports fan, Kolette is never shy about discussing her team spirit. Although her roots are Michigan based, she calls Cocoa Beach home where she lives with her husband and son.
Director of Sales & Marketing
Yvette Jenkin is Director of Sales and Marketing at Chateau Madeleine. She has over 20 years of sales and marketing experience in the tourism and senior living industries in Central Florida. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Puerto Rico, Yvette moved from her native Puerto Rico to Florida and began working in sales and marketing positions in the Orlando tourism industry. Yvette also worked as a sales and marketing manager for Delaware North at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex for 8 years.
After transitioning to the senior living industry, Yvette has worked for several of the top assisted living and memory care properties in the area before bringing her passion and experience to Chateau Madeleine. The most rewarding part of Yvette’s work is helping seniors and their families find a community where they feel safe and enjoy a fun, new way of senior living.
Yvette, her husband Randal, and daughter Vanessa live in West Viera and enjoy playing golf, gardening, riding bikes, watching movies, and driving Vanessa around for acting auditions.

Administrative Coordinator for Sales & Marketing
Pam is the Administrative Coordinator for Sales & Marketing at Chateau Madeleine. With 10 years of experience in Senior Living, she has effectively performed various functions from the front desk to Sales. Her favorite part of the job is spending time with the residents and getting to know them. Originally from “Almost Heaven” West Virginia, Pam and her family moved to Florida in 1985 where they made their home in Suntree. She loves spending time with her family and she and her husband are expecting their first grandchild in July.
Pam is looking forward to meeting the residents and their families and assisting them with an easy, successful transition into Chateau Madeleine.
Director of Recreation & Events
Our Director of Recreation & Events for Chateau Madeleine is Meg Lambert. Originally from Indiana, Meg moved to Florida in 2016. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University. Prior to working in Senior Living, she worked as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist at a mental health hospital. Meg loves working in the Senior Living Industry and planning special events, outings & trips. It brings her much joy knowing her job brings happiness, value & quality of life to the residents. Her favorite quote, by Mae West is, “You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.” A goal of Meg’s is to make each day as enjoyable as possible & she can’t wait to get to know all the Chateau Madeleine residents.
Campus Maintenance Director
I was a military Brat while my Father served in the United States Navy. We lived in just a few different locations, Arizona (where I was born), Maine, Connecticut, and Hawaii. My Dad retired after his last enlistment in Hawaii and my family (Mother, Father, and brother) moved to and settled in my Dad’s home state of Maine.
After graduating High School, I joined the United States Air Force and after basic training I married my (1 year) high school sweetheart Debbie and we got stationed at Loring Air Force Base in northern Maine (adjacent to the Canadian border). I served almost 8 years in the Civil Engineering career field and then began my career in medical facilities management in 1989 with the Air Force in a civilian capacity at the hospital on base.
I have been in medical facilities management for 30 years with experience in Hospitals, Nursing Homes, and Assisted/Independent Living Communities.
My wife Debbie, Philip (son), Nicole (daughter) and I moved to Melbourne FL in July 1994. Debbie was relocated with her Civil Service position to an organization known as AFTAC headquartered at Patrick Air Force Base. Both our son and daughter graduated from the University of Central Florida.
I like to spend my free time with my family. I especially enjoy when the kids visit from Tennessee & Orlando where they currently work and live.
Other Hobbies include Shooting, Golfing, Stamp & Coin collection, fishing and my favorite (past 4years) is riding my Harley with my wife.
Hunter is a 2 ½ year old Golden Retriever. He was born on a farm about 20 minutes outside the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota. When Hunter was only 7 weeks old he went into training to be a service dog. Hunter is a Diabetic Alert Dog and he has been trained to comfort people with PTSD and loves making new friends. Hunter will tell you first hand when you meet him that some of his favorite things to do are to enjoy a really good roll in the grass, swim in the ocean, and to play with his toys. Hunter likes to spend the day visiting all his friends at Chateau Madeleine and making “the rounds”. (You will see him strolling down the hallways looking for a friend that will scratch behind his ears).
Hunter enjoys playing basketball, he has yet to make a basket but he is getting close and his favorite football team is the Minnesota Vikings and it is why he wears a Vikings collar. He says it is his birthright being a Vikings fan because he was born in Minnesota. We love Hunter anyways and Hunter is always looking for new friends. Please stop by and see Hunter, he will shake your hand and welcome you to Chateau Madeleine.
